ClockLab reads data in many formats. Here’s a simple format that allows you to convert a set of counts, temperatures or other observations into a text file that Clocklab can read. You need a 7-line header with the following information:
NAME
START DATE (dd-mon-yyyy), where the month uses stardard 3-letter abbreviations (lower case)
START TIME (24 hour) Always is 2 digits for both hour and minute, as in 04:20
INTERVAL (sample interval, or the time between data points, in minutes multiplied by 4)
AGE (fill in any number just as a place holder, it will be ignored)
ID (also ignored, put in something random as a place holder)
SEX (ignored)
Following this header, just put the data points one after another, one number per line.
You may also put a second number on each line (separated by a comma) to indicate light levels. See the sample file Sample 5.awd included with the ClockLab installation.
Finally, give the file the extension “.AWD”.
Note that any numbers less than 0 will be interpreted as missing data points (gaps).
Here’s a sample of a header and a few data points…
