Installing CL200’s

If you have existing CL200’s (beige box) or CL300’s (black box) that have been purchased prior to November, 2012, and need to upgrade your computer, we recommend that you select the 32-bit version of Windows 7 or 8. With the 32-bit version, the CL200’s will work without modification. The necessary device drivers are here. Download and unzip this file, plug in the board, and when Windows asks for drivers, point it to the D10612 folder. You must be logged into Window with an account that had Administrator privileges.

If you wish to upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows, the CL200’s internal memory must be re-written to work properly:

On the old computer that ClockLab 2 was running on, perform the procedure below. If the old computer is not available, you can use any Windows XP or Windows 7/8 32-bit computer. You’ll need to install the old drivers: Download and unzip this file, plug in the board, and when Windows asks for drivers, point it to the D10612 folder. Once the board is installed:

Download CL200 Configuration Tools
Run MProg.exe
Open the CL200 template (in the MProg Folder).
Plug in one or more CL200’s and wait 15 seconds for Windows to recognize them.
Select the SCAN menu item in the DEVICE menu.
The “Number of Programmed Devices” will be indicated in the log (bottom of the program window).
Select the PROGRAM menu item in the DEVICE menu.
The log window should then read “Programmed Serial Number” followed by an 8-digit alphanumeric value.
The boards should now be recognized by the new CDM drivers when plugged into a machine with those drivers installed.
